In recognition of Vanguard’s 50th anniversary as a firm, Joe Davis, global chief economist, and Sarah Cognetti, head of RIA, visited Nasdaq’s headquarters in Times Square for a celebration with clients to ring the stock market closing bell.

The event also marked the release of Joe’s new book, Coming into View: How AI and Other Megatrends Will Shape Your Investments. In a fireside chat, Joe and Sarah discussed the central theme of his book—the role of megatrends on the economic landscape and greater society.

Joe gave exclusive insight from his book, offering takes on:

  • The projected impact of artificial intelligence on economic growth.
  • The probability of three potential market outcomes.
  • How advisors should approach risk management.

The event not only commemorated the last 50 years of Vanguard’s progress, but also the 50 years to come:

“You know, 50 years ago, our founder, Jack Bogle, had a vision to lower the cost and complexity of investing and give all investors a fair shake,” said Joe. “And since then, we haven’t deviated from our mission, which is to take a stand for all investors, treat them fairly, and give them the best chance of investment success. As we move into the future, we’re continuing to evolve our capabilities to meet the needs of investors, advisors, and plan sponsors alike.”
