Vanguard's ongoing analysis of its 529 plan account owners has produced some very good news. Our latest research note, 529 plan savers earn better grades for behavior, reveals that more investors are using 529s than ever before.

Our analysis shows that our 529 plan owners are saving earlier—the most common beneficiary age is 0. Plan owners are also contributing more consistently, helping them build larger college savings and realize greater tax benefits than those who don’t save consistently.
